Bio:

Sydney joined the Allen Institute for Brain Science in April of 2022. She is a Research Associate on the molecular genetics team building AAVs and other viral genetic tools used to target specific brain cell types in mouse models. Previously she was working at University of Washington Medicine's Center for Emerging and Re-Emerging Infectious Diseases, developing assays for the high-throughput screening of drug re-purposing libraries against SARS-CoV-2. Sydney graduated from the University of Washington Seattle in 2022 with a B.S. in Human Evolutionary Biology and a B.S. in Medical Anthropology and Global Health.
