Solving the mysteries of bioscience
We are an independent nonprofit bioscience research institute aimed at unlocking the mysteries of human biology through foundational science.
Foundational Science Fuels Breakthroughs
We are leaders in large-scale research that transforms our understanding of human health and disease and shapes how science is conducted worldwide.
Inspiring Next-Generation Scientists
To us, open science extends to inspiring the next generation of scientists by supporting access to science resources, research, and experiences.
Sara Carlson joined the Allen Institute for Cell Science in July 2017 and currently serves as a Research Associate in the Assay Development team.
As a research associate, Sara performs quality control on hiPSC lines while also exploring biochemical and image based assays with team members.
Most recently, she studied TRP family ion channels in the Gordon Lab (HSB I-312) at the University of Washington as an undergraduate research student under the supervision of Anastasiia Stratiievska. Sara aided in main cell culture, transfections, calcium imaging and TIRFM imaging. She received her BS in Chemistry from the University of Washington in Seattle.
