Bio:
Rebecca is a Research Associate I in the Genotyping and Probes group of the Molecular Biology department. Her main role involves isolating DNA and PCR genotyping the transgenic mouse lines at the Institute. In 2018, Rebecca received her B.A. in Biology from St. Olaf College, where she studied nitrogen-related genes of the microbial soil community in recently burned prairies, and examined gene mutations involved in sucrose uptake and utilization in Caulobacter crescentus. Prior to the Institute, Rebecca worked at Cepheid as a biochemistry intern, developing their current methods to increase efficiency in their molecular diagnostic systems.
