Bio:

Raymond is a Product Manager on the Data & Technology team in the Allen Institute for Brain Science. He works across teams of scientists and software engineers to understand scientific needs and guide the development of software tools that accelerate research happening at the Allen Institute and collaborator institutions. He joined the Allen Institute in 2021 as a member of the Human Cell Types team, where he focused on leveraging multi-modal datasets collected from mouse and human primary motor cortex to develop new online data tools for researchers exploring the features of transcriptomically defined cell types.

Prior to joining the Allen Institute, Raymond earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Washington in the lab of Dr. Horacio de la Iglesia in 2020. There, he used genetic, electrophysiological and behavioral techniques to characterize sleep disturbances in epilepsy and explore the contributions of different cell types in the hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nucleus to sleep timing. He earned his B.S. in Neuroscience & Cognitive Science from the University of Arizona in 2015.
