Bio:

Katie Glattfelder joined the Allen Institute in 2004 to section tissue used for the in situ hybridization (ISH) images for Allen Mouse Brain Reference Atlas.  In 2006, she moved to the newly formed Annotation group where she led the group's efforts to manually analyze ISH images for the Allen Spinal Cord Atlas and Allen Developing Mouse Brain Atlas, assisted in creating the seven Allen Developing Mouse Brain Atlases, and led teams of interns and Research Associates in manual reconstruction of neurons in large scale serially sectioned electron microscopy images in mouse primary visual cortex.  Katie moved to the scientific program management team in early 2016 where she currently supports scientists on a variety of projects and large grants.  Prior to joining the Institute, she worked in a GLP certified contract research organization on pharmacokinetic and toxicokinetic studies in mouse and non-human primate models.  Katie studied psychology at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI with an emphasis in life sciences.
