Solving the mysteries of bioscience
We are an independent nonprofit bioscience research institute aimed at unlocking the mysteries of human biology through foundational science.
Foundational Science Fuels Breakthroughs
We are leaders in large-scale research that transforms our understanding of human health and disease and shapes how science is conducted worldwide.
Inspiring Next-Generation Scientists
To us, open science extends to inspiring the next generation of scientists by supporting access to science resources, research, and experiences.

Ali joined the Allen Institute in 2010 as a member of the Tissue Sectioning team, working on the human and mouse brain atlases. After the completion of the atlases, Ali transitioned to the Neurosurgery & Behavior team and gained expertise in murine neurosurgeries and operant behavior training. After several years performing surgeries and training mice, Ali became a Manager for the Neurosurgery & Behavior team. In her current role as Manger, Ali is responsible for managing surgical and behavioral resources for several high-throughput pipelines, in addition to a few smaller research science projects.
Prior to joining the Institute, Ali received a B.A. degree in Neurobiology with a minor in Psychology from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
