Meghan Turner, Ph.D.

Scientist I

Bio:

Meghan joined the Allen Institute for Brain Science in 2023 as a member of the Imaging Department, where she is developing computational approaches to analyze spatial transcriptomics data, with a particular focus on the identification of data-driven parcellations of the mouse thalamus. She intends to extend the application of these methods to other mammalian spatial transcriptomic atlases. Prior to joining the Allen Institute, Meghan completed her PhD in Biophysics at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. For her dissertation research, she combined live fluorescence microscopy experiments and computational image analysis to investigate the regulatory mechanisms of transcriptional bursting during embryonic development. Meghan received her B.S. in Biochemistry and Applied Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
