Bio:
Alex Fraser is a research associate with the Gene Therapy team at the Allen Institute for Brain Science working on the Parkinson’s Disease program. Prior to joining the Institute, Alex worked at Washington State University as an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Brendan Walker’s lab examining the impact of kappa opioid receptors on learning within the context of alcohol dependence. After graduation, she worked at Stony Brook University under Dr. Prerana Shrestha studying protein synthesis dynamics associated with long term memory retrieval as well as the role of prefrontal cortex circuits in memory consolidation. Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington State University in 2020.
