Aaron Garcia, Ph.D.

Scientist I

Bio:

Aaron is a Scientist within the Human Cell Types team in the Allen Institute for Brain Science. Since joining in 2023, his primary role is to facilitate data generation for the development of comprehensive, multi-omic brain cell atlases in humans and non-human primates. He is a member of the Human and Mammalian Brain Atlas (HMBA) grant within the broader BRAIN Initiative Cell Atlas Network (BICAN) consortium, where he is responsible for dissecting cerebral tissues and coordinating with different teams internally and externally to generate high-quality, multi-omic datasets.

Prior to joining the Allen Institute, Aaron completed a Ph.D. in neuroscience at the University of Washington, where he studied the anatomical and electrophysiological relationships between regions in the macaque hippocampal formation. He earned his undergraduate degree in neuroscience from Boston University in 2014 and completed a subsequent two-year fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health in 2016.
