Inspiring Next-Generation Scientists
Researchers at the Allen Institute will be leading a hands-on data analysis tutorial at TReND-CaMinA, an intensive entry-level course to teach young African students and researchers the basics of computational neuroscience and machine learning.
CMU-Africa campus, Kigali, Rwanda
Allen Institute scientists will lead two days of data analysis tutorials at TReND-CaMinA using our large-scale publicly available Neuropixels and 2-photon datasets. These datasets will support computational and data analysis projects for students attending TReND-CaMinA. Instructors will be onsite for the first few days to work directly with students as they begin their projects, which will continue throughout the course as students learn the foundations of computational neuroscience.
Students and researchers in Africa are encouraged to apply by midnight (GMT) on February 15, 2024.
TReND in Africa is a volunteer-run charity supporting scientific capacity building across Africa. They run cutting edge biomedical
training courses, provide universities with scientific equipment, run academic volunteering and outreach schemes, and support and work with African researchers.
