Scientists at the Allen Institute together with collaborators around the world recently achieved two major scientific milestones to advance our understanding of the brain:

1. Detailed cellular maps of the entire human brain reveal clues. Scientists have just unveiled a massive effort to understand our own brains and those of our closest primate relatives by examining over 3,000 different brain cell types.
2. Scientists unveil first complete cellular map of adult mouse brain. This high-resolution atlas catalogues over 5,300 cell types along with their spatial distribution across the brain.
