Kathryn McGuckin Wuertz is trying to understand the relationship between infectious diseases and neurological diseases. McGuckin Wuertz is a Major in the U.S. Army stationed at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Maryland. Prior to this, she was a Pathobiology student in the Gale Lab at the University of Washington’s Center for Innate Immunity and Immune Disease. There she used the Allen Institute’s publicly available resources to study a protein in the brain called STING.
