Bio:

Naz joined the Allen Institute in 2020 as a Senior Research Associate in the Human Cell Types research program to work on the Gene Therapy project. She graduated from the University of Washington and worked at various institutes including Fred Hutch and Seattle Children’s Research Institute. Prior to joining the institute, Naz worked in the Department of Neuroscience at Columbia University where she studied the building blocks of sensory and motor circuits with a focus on diverse cell types in the auditory system of mice. Naz has 8+ years of experience in the field of neuroscience studying various model organisms by utilizing novel techniques such as viral technology, histology, optogenetics and imaging to analyze the properties of brain in health and disease.
