Shoaib leads the Data and Technology organization at Allen Institute for Brain Science. Shoaib and his team are responsible for Allen Institute for Brain Science web products including visualization applications, knowledge graph and an integrated data framework to enable advanced search and discovery of brain data. Shoaib’s team is also responsible for informatics and data science to process brain data using advanced algorithms, machine learning and computer vision. Previously, he founded a an artificial intelligence and advanced discovery company AwareCloud and served as the Chief Executive Officer. He also served as Vice President of Research and Development at YarcData, overseeing engineering and product development activities. Shoaib also held roles of Vice President of the Knowledge Management business and Emerging Technologies group at Cray, where he oversaw the creation of the first analytics business and development of knowledge discovery supercomputing appliance. Shoaib joined Cray from Sun Microsystems where he held several senior management and technical positions. Shoaib holds a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Shoaib is a Rotary International Scholar.
