Bio:

Ruby joined The Seattle Hub for Synthetic Biology in 2024 as a Research Associate II. On the Sense team, she’s working on developing molecular sensors that translate biological signals into barcodes that can then be written into DNA. Prior to the Allen Institute, she conducted research at the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine in the labs of Drs. Chuck Murry and Nate Sniadecki. There, she worked on optimizing stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes for transplantation purposes that would help repair the heart after myocardial infarction and studying their contractility as engineered heart tissues. Ruby received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Washington and enjoys meshing her passions for science and public health.
