Megan Riel-Mehan, Ph.D.

Bio:

In 2017, Megan became a part of the Animated Cell team at the Allen Institute for Cell Science. Her primary role involves developing tools to assist scientists in visualizing and analyzing their data and models. Megan holds dual undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in chemical biology and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in art, both from UC Berkeley. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from UC San Francisco. Prior to joining the Allen Institute, Megan served as a Postdoctoral scholar in Graham Johnson's Mesoscope lab, where she worked extensively with advanced microscopy data. Her passion lies in exploring how interactive tools can uncover valuable insights within vast datasets and complex systems.
