Marcus is a scientist that works on single-cell genomics data for the purpose of characterizing cell types and designing viral genetic tools. In addition, he has developed pipelines for data processing and apps for data visualization. He contributes to several projects including Thalamus, Cortex, Basal Ganglia and whole brain multiome. Prior to his work at the Institute, Marcus earned his Ph.D. in Genetics at the University of Florida and did his postdoctoral work at the University of Washington.
