Marc Takeno, Ph.D.

Research Associate Principal

Bio:

Marc’s primary role at the Institute is to prepare tissue for large-scale electron microscopy (EM) studies of local cortical circuits. EM tissue preparation and visualization are technically demanding – especially at scale – but the knowledge that the data will be publicly available, as well as helping to define the standard of fine-scale connections in the mouse cortex for Marc, is very rewarding.

Prior to coming to the Allen Institute, Marc managed a light microscopy facility at the University of Washington Department of Bioengineering. Marc earned a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Washington, and a B.S. from Johns Hopkins University.
