Madeline Burchard, M.Sc.

Digital Media Specialist II

Bio:

Madeline Burchard is a Digital Media Specialist at the Allen Institute, where she is responsible for creating and managing digital content for the Institute’s social media channels including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Threads, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Madeline is passionate about making science accessible and engaging to the public. She believes that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about science and its impact on our world. In her role at the Allen Institute, she uses her skills in writing, design, video production and social media management to create content that is informative, engaging, and inspiring.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Environmental Biology from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Science in Science Communication and Public Engagement from the University of Edinburgh. Her thesis research focused on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the social media strategies of science museums.

Outside of work, Madeline enjoys embroidering, reading, and spending time with her husband and two cats.
