Lydia Potekhina, M.E.

Research Associate, Senior Supervisor

Bio:

​​Lydia joined the Allen Institute in 2011 and is currently a Senior Research Associate Supervisor in the Imaging group. She graduated from University of Washington with a ME in Pharmaceutical Bioengineering and University of Utah with a BS in Biomedical Engineering and minor in chemistry. Specializing in high-throughput brightfield, fluorescent and confocal microscopy, Lydia’s work consisted of imaging for all Institute research atlases including the signature human and mouse Brain Atlas. She is currently focused on imaging for Cell Types database that supports multiple pipeline projects, such as In-Vitro Single Cell Characterization, Synaptic Physiology and BRAIN Mouse Brain Cell Atlas grant. As a senior member of the Scanning Lab team, she leverages her imaging and Lab Information Management System expertise to plan new projects, develop and optimize workflows, track imaging data and assist more novice peers.​
