Bio:
Leila is joining the Allen Institute for Immunology from the Covance Genomics Laboratory (CGL), a contract research organization focused on the development of genomic assays on various platforms (microarray, NGS, real-time PCR) for various client or collaborator projects, ranging from fit-for-purpose to large sample sets. As the laboratory manager, Leila oversaw the general management of laboratory operations from reagent ordering & equipment support, to supporting the set up and execution of client projects through the lab, and driving the ongoing process improvement or implementation of new assays. Prior to CGL, Leila was the Clinical (Production) Laboratory Manager at Adaptive Biotechnologies; while at Adaptive, she worked to scale laboratory operations from a low throughput to high throughput lab, worked to develop an end-to-end Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) integrated with automation methods, and supported the execution of analytical and clinical validations for their B-Cell Minimal Residual Disease lab developed test to the FDA.
Leila started her career as a Research Associate at Merck/Rosetta Inpharmatics in Seattle, where she was part of the Gene Expression Laboratory and processed samples for various microarray platforms.
Leila graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Biology and is a native local of the Seattle area.
