Kelly Jin, Ph.D.

Scientist II

Bio:

Kelly Jin joined the Allen Institute in 2020 and currently works as a scientist working closely with the Data Science & Informatics and Molecular Genetics teams at the Allen Institute for Brain Science. She contributes to projects related to single-cell transcriptomics, epigenomics, and proteomics. Most recently, Kelly has played a large role in projects that interrogate healthy aging in the mouse brain.

Before joining the Allen Institute, Kelly obtained her Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine and Mechanisms of Disease in the lab of Dr. Daniel Promislow at the University of Washington studying aging in the context of natural genetic variation in animal populations including fruit flies and companion dogs. Prior to that, Kelly received her M.S. in Cell Biology at University of California San Diego studying cellular pathways that control bioluminescence in marine algae.

Kelly is broadly interested in aging, systems biology, and phenotypic/genetic variation.
