Keith Wiley, Ph.D.

Connectomics Service Engineer

Bio:

Keith Wiley is a software engineer for connectomics within the Neural Dynamics division. He has held several positions in the tech industry in the Seattle Area, specializing in Big Data processing, and generally in data science and software engineering, with an emphasis on image/video processing and machine learning. He has also held two positions at the University of Washington, first in the Applied Physics Laboratory on underwater acoustics simulation and later in the Department of Astronomy on LSST image processing using cloud computing methods. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico.

Research Focus:

I am interested in developing at-scale techniques for obtaining, processing, and modeling brain scan data (with a primary interest in EM slice or block-face acquisition) to achieve full-scale (or as large as possible) structural and functional models of neural processing and brain behavior. I am further interested in modeling, studying, and decoding neural circuit functional processes.
