Bio:
Jesse Gray is Senior Director of Scientific Operations and Strategy at the Seattle Hub for Synthetic Biology (Seattle Hub). He loves science and team-building in equal proportions. Before joining Seattle Hub, Jesse was Head of Discovery at exon-editing gene therapy start-up Ascidian Therapeutics, an experience he also regards as an operations postdoc. His laboratory in the Genetics Department at Harvard Medical School found that neuronal activity histories could be inferred from global gene expression states and developed total RNA-seq analysis methods for measuring the kinetics of pre-mRNA processing. In his postdoc with Mike Greenberg, he discovered enhancer RNAs. In his Ph.D. with Cori Bargmann he discovered molecules and cells that sense oxygen and mediate oxygen-related behaviors in C. elegans.
