Bio:
James Acosta-Clark joined the SeaHub at the Allen Institute in 2024. Before starting at SeaHub, James completed a Ph.D. at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York under Dr. Cathy Savage-Dunn and a post doctoral fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine in the lab of Dr. Philippe Soriano. Using both C. elegans in his graduate work and M. musculus in his postdoctoral work, James’ academic career has focused on understanding signaling mechanisms and how they impact development. Using a multidisciplanary approach including genetic technologies, multiomics analyses, developomental biology, and classical genetics, James has identified novel interactions between BMP and Insulin signaling and novel effectors of noncanonical FGF signaling.
