Bio:

Irina has been at the Allen Institute for Cell Science since 2015. She originally joined the Allen Institute for Cell Science as a scientist but switched over to program management in 2018. As Scientific Program Manager she coordinates activities between multiple projects and between teams working on the same project. She also has a passion for laboratory management and logistics.

Irina obtained her PhD in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks where she investigated the inter-relationship of mitochondrial structure and function in Antarctic fishes. Irina holds a diploma (MS equivalent) in biology from the Eberhard Karls Universitӓt Tübingen, Germany. Prior to joining the Allen Institute for Cell Science, Irina was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Irvine. There, Irina’s work focused on developing quantitative, live cell and microscopy-based assays to study mitochondrial function and structure.
