Irika is a Scientist I with the Brain Health Accelerator initiative at the Allen Institute for Brain Science. She received her PhD in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University, where she leveraged large public datasets and bioinformatic tools to investigate TDP-43-associated splicing in the context of ALS-FTD and other diseases. Prior to the PhD, she received her B.S. in Biochemistry and Biology (MCD) from the University of Washington. She previously conducted research spanning immunology and cancer biology with Dr. Andrew McGuire, clean energy technologies with Dr. David Ginger, and aging biology with Dr. Matt Kaeberlein at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and the University of Washington.
