Erin Angelini, Ph.D.

Scientist I

Bio:

Erin joined the Institute in 2024 as a scientist (Computational Physics) in Cell Science after completing her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington. During her Ph.D., she worked on mathematical frameworks for understanding how phenotypic state transitions in single cells affect population-level dynamics. This work encompassed a model for drug resistance in cancer and a stochastic thermodynamic treatment of “big data” from single-cell measurements. Before moving to Seattle for graduate school, Erin received her B.A. in mathematics from Pomona College.

Research Focus:

Erin's research interests include applications of dynamical systems, stochastic processes, and mathematical physics to cell biology.
