Erica Peterson joined the mFISH Lightsheet team in the Imaging Department at the Allen Institute as a Research Associate in 2021. Prior to working at the Allen institute, Erica obtained her BSc from the University of Washington in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology in 2018. During her undergraduate degree, she studied olfaction and memory across different species of mosquitoes in the Riffell Lab at UW. Erica then went on to complete a Master of Research degree at University College London in Biosciences with a focus on Stem Cells and Developmental Biology. For her master’s project, she studied the characterization and localization of glioma stem cells in a mouse model of glioblastoma.
