Bio:
Emily Borsom joined the MindScope Program in 2022 as an Associate Scientific Project and Alliance Manager. Primarily supporting Shanahan Foundation Fellowship, Emily coordinates with stakeholders at the University of Washington, Allen Institute and Shanahan Family Foundation, supports day to day activities, and leads annual program recruitment. Additionally, Emily is responsible for reporting and evaluation for a portfolio of externally funded scientific projects and works with investigators and the data and technology teams to manage resources for data storage.
Emily holds a PhD from Northern Arizona University, where she studied the gut microbiota in mice modeling Alzheimer’s disease pathologies in the lab of Emily Cope. In her dissertation, Emily identified specific microbial communities associated with different stages of pathology modeling. In addition to her PhD, Emily earned a BS in Biology and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Northern Arizona University.
