Bio:
After earning a biophysics degree from the University of Washington, Elliot joined the Allen Institute to become immersed in the science of the brain. Following their undergraduate research in patch-clamp electrophysiology, Elliot works on the Tissue Processing team supporting Allen’s electrophysiology and transcriptomic pipelines. Additionally, Elliot’s efforts are focused on data collection for the Human Brain Atlas as part of the BICAN grant – an exciting follow-up to the Mouse Brain Atlas. One of Elliot’s joys is learning the etymology of brain structures while studying their function such as how ‘hippocampus’ means “horse-like sea monster” in Greek.
