Becky Zaunbrecher Headshot

Becky Zaunbrecher, Ph.D.

Scientist II

Bio:

Becky joined the Stem Cells and Gene Editing group in 2019 as a Differentiation Scientist. Her work focuses on studying cardiomyocytes generated from fluorescently tagged human induced pluripotent stem cell lines produced within the group to understand changes during differentiation and maturation.  Before joining the Allen Institute, she performed research in Chuck Murry and Michael Regnier’s labs to earn her PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Washington. There, she studied a novel isoform of the sarcomere protein titin using genetically engineered human stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes. Becky received her Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from Rice University.
