Bio:

Avalon joined the Allen Institute in 2022 as Research Associate on the Neurosurgery & Behavior team. Her work consists of providing rodent neurosurgery and behavioral services to projects within the institute. She graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a B.S. in Psychology, concentration in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. During her undergraduate studies she worked in two rodent based research labs investigating decision-making and effort-based behavior, risk-sensitive foraging, as well as self-control and impulsivity. Avalon has also previously worked as a behavioral technician helping children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
