Bio:

Alina joined the Allen Institute in December of 2024. In her operations role, she standardizes processes across the Computational Biology team, facilitates making analyses accessible by scientists with all levels of coding experience, and oversees the operations team responsible for ingesting data into HISE.

With two years at a pharmaceutical company followed by five years at an animal genetics company as a bioinformatician and later Bioinformatics Manager, she has honed her expertise in transforming bioinformatics analyses into robust pipelines across a variety of data modalities. Alina received her PhD in Genomics from Iowa State University under the guidance of Dr. Patrick Schnable, developing tools and methods to assess the phenotypic variability arising from the genomic diversity of maize.
