This internal and external celebration honors not only the awardees but the collaborative spirit and bold thinking that defines the Allen Institute. The program will include a short interview with our panelists as well as the announcement of the 2026 winners. A reception will follow where Allenites are invited to network with colleagues as well as external network. Mentors and Reviewers for the 2026 Innovation Awards program will also be in attendance.

This celebration honors not only our awardees but the collaborative spirit and bold thinking that defines the Allen Institute.

panelists/

Silvana Konermann, PhD‍

Co-founder and Executive Director of Arc Institute, and a Stanford biochemist whose lab develops CRISPR tools to study and ultimately treat Alzheimer's disease.

Peter Kolchinsky, PhD‍

Founder and Managing Partner of RA Capital Management, with a PhD in virology from Harvard and 20+ years backing biotech companies; also founded No Patient Left Behind to push for drug pricing reforms that don't kill innovation.

Jenny Laird, PhD‍

VP of Neuroscience Search & Evaluation at Eli Lilly, where she identifies and licenses external science across neurology and pain; previously held senior roles at AstraZeneca and Merck spanning over two decades in CNS drug development.

This event will be held at the Allen Institute, a 270,000-square-foot life sciences building, located in South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle. The building is purpose-built for life science research and facilitates our trademark team science approach amid abundant natural light and with stunning views of Seattle.
