Mapping the Brain: From Cells and Circuits to Function

Allen Institute President and CEO Rui Costa, D.V.M., Ph.D., delivered a special presidential lecture at Society for Neuroscience’s 2024 Annual Meeting. In his talk, he outlined the Institute’s foundational efforts to map diverse cell types and circuits in the mammalian brain using approaches such as single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, morphological and physiological analyses, and advanced light and electron microscopy.
