Our Culture and Community

As a scientific organization building a world-class culture and community, Allen Institute employees collaborated to create a word cloud that represents our journey together as we move forward with purpose and impactful intention for the future. Within the Erlenmeyer flask, you will find elements of who we are as a community, including our Affinity Groups, as well as terms related to our mission statement, culture, values, and core principles.

Affinity Groups

Affinity Groups (AGs) at Allen Institute are voluntary, employee-driven groups centered on shared interests, characteristics, or experiences. AGs provide several benefits by:

Promoting cultural awareness and an inclusive environment.

Boosting job satisfaction, morale, and productivity

Fostering professional development and leadership skills

Encouraging networking and the exchange of ideas

Learning, Experience, and Development (LEaD)

LEaD’s mission is to create the best possible Allenite experience by delivering exceptional programs, learning, and development that support professional and personal growth.

Learning | We provide centralized learning creation and deployment grounded in an evidence-based learning framework for maximum impact

Experience | We create a great Allenite experience through programs that foster connection across our community and in service of our Allen Institute mission, values, and core principles
Development | We enable Allenites to advance their careers through high impact development programs, individualized coaching, and comprehensive resources
