Bio:
Zeinab Barati is a Scientific Program Manager for the Allen Institute Brain and Consciousness. She supports an externally funded portfolio of grants focused on mental health and wellbeing.
Prior to joining Allen Institute in 2021, Zeinab was the founder of a startup with NIH SBIR support focusing on developing miniaturized optical imaging instruments for small lab animals. Zeinab received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, studying the cerebral hemodynamic response to pain using functional near-infrared spectroscopy. She is the recipient of an American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship to study autonomic nervous system regulation of heart rate during hibernation in Arctic ground squirrels and drug-induced torpor in rodents at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
