Kim Gruver, Ph.D.

Scientist I

Bio:

Kim Gruver joined the Allen Institute in 2024 as a Scientist in the Neural Coding group. Under the direction of Nuno Maçarico da Costa, she works on the Electron Microscopy Connectomics team to scale up volumetric imaging of the mouse brain. Prior to joining the Allen Institute, Kim received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from McGill University in the laboratory of Alanna Watt, where she explored functional connectivity patterns in the mouse cerebellum using combined electrophysiology, optogenetics, and microscopy approaches. Kim is interested in understanding the relationship between circuit infrastructure and information processing in the brain, as well as in contributing to collaborative science that is open and accessible to all.
