Bio:

Carson has been working at the Allen Institute since the beginning of 2022, where he started working on co-registration of cell identities between in vivo two-photon imaging and ex vivo light sheet imaging. Along the way he has worked on developing data-processing pipelines for light sheet image data, including stitching, segmentation, multi-round registration, and quality control. This work provides valuable gene-expression information to the scientists studying neural dynamics on multiple projects.

Prior to joining the Institute, Carson studied Biology (BSc) before Electrical and Computer Engineering (BASc) at the University of British Columbia. He seeks to integrate work experience from diverse fields such as ASIC engineering (Intel), academic biomedical research (Dr. John Kramer), and fast-paced industry (Cypress Power Ltd).
