Bio:

David Vumbaco joined the Allen Institute in 2021 and serves as the Scientific Project and Alliance Manager for the Connectomics Portfolio. Dave previously worked at Alpha Computing as chief science officer, and as a neuroscience researcher at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans (LSUHSC). At Alpha Computing Dave was responsible for planning and executing human EEG studies, the goal of which was a novel brain machine interface. Dave earned his doctorate at LSUHSC in Neuroscience while investigating the central neural correlates of peripheral auditory disfunction and mapping thalamocortical projections in a mouse model for human Usher syndrome. Dave completed his bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Physics, at Loyola University New Orleans.
