Manager, Inclusive Research Programs

Bio:

Jimena Garcia (she/her) is a Program Manager at the Allen Institute, leading enterprise-wide inclusive research strategies and initiatives. She holds a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of California, Santa Cruz, alongside certifications in Project Management from the University of Washington and in Meaningful Care for Refugees, Asylum Seekers, and Humanitarian Migrants from Refugees Northwest.

Her extensive experience in managing complex and cross-functional projects, delivering data-driven insights, and improving healthcare outcomes for historically marginalized populations underscores her commitment to advancing health equity. Her work includes spearheading enterprise health equity initiatives within health systems, designing and launching multi-state community health worker (CHW) programs, and cultivating robust partnerships between communities and health systems to improve the health outcomes for underserved populations.

Jimena’s ethos is deeply rooted in the belief that solutions and discoveries are most impactful and equitable when they integrate diverse perspectives and amplify the voices of communities historically underrepresented in science and medicine. She is also an active advocate for social justice, serving as an Advisory Board Member for the Latino Center for Health and the as Board VP for the Latino Community Fund of WA State. On her free time, she enjoys paddle boarding, spending time with loved ones and traveling.
