Bio:
Currently a Manager at the Allen Institute, Jimena Garcia leads inclusive research strategy and program development. She is steadfast in her commitment to open science, advancing population health, and fostering an inclusive culture where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered to thrive.
At the heart of her mission are communities.
With a decade of extensive experience, she has managed enterprise health equity initiatives for a multi-state health system, managed oncology and immune health research programs, launched multi-state community health worker (CHW) programs and has grown community partnerships to improve population health outcomes. She has also improved access to primary care services by leading clinical operations and managing compassionate and excellent teams within Federally Qualified Health Centers.
Jimena’s ethos is founded on the belief that solutions and discoveries have the greatest impact when they incorporate diverse perspectives and include the voices of the communities most affected by the challenges we seek to address.
Beyond her professional endeavors, she actively advocates for health equity and social justice, serving on the Advisory Board for the Latino Center for Health and as Board Vice President for the Latino Community Fund of WA State.
