Bio:

Tom Mrsic-Flogel has been Director of the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour, and a Professor of Neuroscience at University College London, since 2016. Prior to this he was Associate Professor in Neuroscience at the Biozentrum, Basel University, and a Lecturer in the Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology at University College London. He did his postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology, Martinsried, Germany and his Ph.D. at Oxford University. Research in his laboratory aims to explain how the brain makes decisions by combining sensory information with previously learned knowledge.
