Lydia Marks

Research Associate III

Bio:

Lydia joined the Allen Institute in 2022 to assist in research using large-scale electrophysiology recordings to investigate the neuronal basis of consciousness, and how neuronal activity is influenced by extracellular electrical stimulation. In 2021, Lydia received her master’s degree in Immunology/Neuroscience from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Her research investigated the influence of memory on innate thermoregulatory responses in mice. While at Trinity College Dublin, Lydia was also the Lab Manager in Dr. Tomás Ryan’s lab, where she assisted in research focused on understanding how memories are encoded, stored, and retrieved in the brain. Lydia received her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, with a minor in Philosophy from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA.
