Bio:
Emma Thomas joined the Allen Institute in 2022 as a member of the Single Cell Genomics team, where they work to develop and utilize cutting-edge technologies to characterize the wide variety of cell types within the brain. Prior to joining the Institute, they worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Timothy Cherry’s lab at Seattle Children’s Research Institute, where they used single-cell genomics techniques to profile cis-regulatory elements in the human retina and in retinal organoids. ET received a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona and earned a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Washington, where they studied the regeneration of lateral line hair cells in zebrafish.
