Bio:
Dong-Wook joined the Allen Institute in 2020 after finishing his doctoral studies in David Anderson’s lab at California Institute of Technology. For his PhD research, he primarily focused on multimodal cell type characterizations (in order to link transcriptomic diversity to projection specificity and behavioral function) in the ventrolateral subdivision of ventromedial hypothalamus (VMHvl), which mediates innate social behaviors in mice. At the Institute, Dong-Wook is currently investigating the identification and characterization of cell types and neural circuits that are engaged during different stages of drug addiction in mice.
