Bio:
Ivana Bussi is a Scientific Project and Alliance Manager at the Allen Institute for Neural Dynamics. She collaborates with the Scientific Operations team to coordinate and support AIND projects, focusing on advancing scientific and educational goals.
Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ivana earned her B.S. in Biotechnology (2010) and Ph.D. in Basic and Applied Sciences (2016) from the University of Quilmes. Her doctoral research explored the physiological mechanisms underlying the circadian regulation of time perception and motivation in mice.
Following her Ph.D., Ivana joined Horacio de la Iglesia’s lab at the University of Washington as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, investigating neuronal mechanisms underlying impairments in circadian regulation and sleep. She continued her research on circadian rhythms at the Leloir Institute in Argentina, working with Drosophila melanogaster. In 2023, Ivana became a Project Leader at FeedVax, a biotech startup in Buenos Aires, where she managed a collaborative research team developing microparticle-based oral vaccines for aquaculture species.
