Peter Groblewski, Ph.D.

Director, Research Operations

Bio:

Peter Groblewski is the Director of Research Operations in the Allen Institute for Neural Dynamics, where he oversees multiple data collection teams. Peter has held various roles at the institute, all focused on developing and leading large-scale pipeline projects and high-throughput core research facilities. His Allen Brain Observatory teams have contributed to collecting numerous large-scale, in vivo physiology datasets, all of which have been publicly released.
Peter’s passion for neuroscience, engineering, and operations has developed over many years starting as an undergraduate at Bates College in Maine. After receiving a BS in Neuroscience, Peter then conducted traumatic brain injury research for the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington. He then went on to attend graduate school at Oregon Health & Science University where he studied the prefrontal cortical circuits involved in cue-elicited approach behaviors in mice. Peter then returned to the University of Washington for his post-doctoral fellowship, where he studied neuroeconomics in rats and managed a rodent self-administration behavior facility. Peter joined the Allen Institute’s Mindscope program as a Scientist in 2013.
