Bio:
Soh Ishiguro received his PhD from Keio University in Japan, where he developed new CRISPR-based genome and base editing tools with enhanced precision, expanded functionality, and improved programmability. He moved to Vancouver, Canada, in 2021 to begin his postdoctoral career at the University of British Columbia. During his postdoctoral research, he focused on developing synthetic biology tools by harnessing DNA barcoding, genome editing, and high-throughput sequencing technologies. At SeaHub, Dr. Ishiguro focuses on developing molecular recording devices that “sense” and “write” rich biological information into synthetic DNA tapes over time.
