Bio:

Sherif joined the Allen Institute in June 2023 as a software engineer in the Informatics group where he works on pipelines and tools that support imaging for various scientific projects. He has prior experience as a research and applied scientist working on automating experiment design and analysis, and training multimodal models to generate image embeddings.

Sherif holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in cognitive psychology from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, where he studied cognitive models for reading aloud, mathematical cognition, and task switching.
